ShearBook, Limited Co. (“ShearBook,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our platform at shearbook.app (the “Platform”).

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Account information (name, email address, phone number)
• Profile information (bio, photos, service descriptions, pricing)
• Professional license information (license number, state, type)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
• Booking details (service selected, date, time, notes)
• Communications (messages sent through the Platform, support emails)
• Promotional content (flyers, captions, hashtags for social spotlights)

Information collected automatically:

• Device information (browser type, operating system, device type)
• Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent)
• IP address and approximate location
• Cookies and similar technologies

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Platform
• Process bookings and payments
• Verify professional licenses
• Send booking confirmations, reminders, and notifications
• Display your profile to potential clients (stylists)
• Deliver promoted listings and social spotlights
• Calculate and display ratings, reviews, and The Style List rankings
• Improve and personalize the Platform
• Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
• Respond to support requests
• Send marketing communications (with your consent)

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information with:

• Other users: Your profile information is visible to clients (if you're a stylist) or stylists (if you're a client with an active booking)
• Stripe: Payment processing — governed by Stripe's own privacy policy
• Supabase: Database hosting and authentication
• Resend: Transactional email delivery
• Twilio: SMS booking reminders
• Vercel: Platform hosting

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Payment Data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. ShearBook does not store credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or other sensitive financial data on our servers. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

6. License Verification

If you submit a professional license for verification, we may check your license status against publicly available state board databases. License information displayed on your profile is limited to verification status (verified/unverified) — your license number is not publicly displayed.

7. Cookies, Tracking & App Tracking Transparency

ShearBook uses essential cookies to:

• Keep you logged in
• Remember your preferences
• Enable core functionality

We do not track you. ShearBook does not use third-party advertising trackers, advertising cookies, data broker integrations, or cross-site/cross-app tracking pixels. We do not share, sell, or disclose your data to third parties for their advertising purposes. Because we do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies, the ShearBook iOS app does not display an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission prompt. 7a. Sign in with Apple

If you sign in using Apple, we receive only the information you choose to share — your name and an email address. You may elect to share your real email or use Apple's private email relay (an @privaterelay.appleid.com address that forwards to your real inbox). We do not receive any additional Apple account data, and we do not attempt to link your Apple ID to any other identifiers. You may disconnect Sign in with Apple at any time from your device's Settings → your Apple ID → Sign in with Apple, or by deleting your ShearBook account.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes, which are retained for 7 years).

Booking history, reviews, and ratings may be anonymized and retained for platform integrity.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your ShearBook account and associated personal data directly inside the app or website. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. The deletion completes within 30 days (certain records such as transaction history may be retained for legal/tax compliance, as described in section 8). You do not need to contact support or call us to delete your account.
• Opt out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Row-level security on all database tables
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth
• Regular security audits

No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

ShearBook is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

12. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. ShearBook does not sell personal information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
