Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines the rules and expectations for using ShearBook’s platform at shearbook.app. All users — clients and beauty professionals (“Pros”) alike — must comply with this policy.

2. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use ShearBook to:

• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against any user
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information (including fake reviews or credentials)
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or qualifications
• Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent platform fees or payment systems
• Solicit users to transact outside of ShearBook to avoid platform fees
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the Platform
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform’s infrastructure or other users’ experience
• Upload malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Engage in any activity that violates local, state, or federal law

3. Content Standards

All content you post on ShearBook (profile information, photos, reviews, messages) must:

• Be accurate and truthful
• Respect the intellectual property rights of others
• Not contain personally identifiable information of others without their consent
• Be appropriate for a professional beauty services context
• Not contain spam, advertisements for unrelated services, or promotional material for competing platforms

4. Professional Standards (for Pros)

Pros using ShearBook must:

• Maintain a valid professional license as required by their state or jurisdiction
• Accurately represent their services, pricing, and availability
• Provide services in a safe, sanitary, and professional manner
• Honor confirmed bookings or provide timely cancellation
• Respond to client communications in a reasonable timeframe
• Not discriminate against clients based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic

5. Review Guidelines

Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. You may not:

• Write reviews for services you did not receive
• Offer or accept payment or incentives in exchange for reviews
• Post reviews on behalf of others
• Use reviews to make threats or personal attacks
• Include irrelevant content in reviews

6. Enforcement

ShearBook reserves the right to:

• Remove content that violates this policy
• Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
• Report illegal activity to law enforcement
• Withhold payouts for Pros engaged in fraudulent activity

Enforcement actions are at ShearBook’s sole discretion. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account termination without prior warning.

7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter a violation of this policy, please report it to support@shearbook.app. All reports are reviewed and investigated. We do not retaliate against users who report violations in good faith.
