DMCA & Intellectual Property

1. Respect for Intellectual Property

ShearBook respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects all users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content on ShearBook infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent with the following information:

  1. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  2. A description of where the infringing material is located on ShearBook (URL or screenshot)
  3. Your contact information (name, address, phone number, email)
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was wrongly removed due to a DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notification containing:

  1. Identification of the removed content and its former location
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed in error
  3. Your name, address, phone number, and email
  4. A statement consenting to jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
  5. Your physical or electronic signature

5. Repeat Infringers

ShearBook will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers. We track DMCA notices and may suspend or permanently ban accounts after multiple valid complaints.

6. Trademark

“ShearBook” and the ShearBook logo are trademarks of ShearBook, Limited Co. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission. Pro profiles, service names, and portfolio content remain the intellectual property of their respective owners.

7. User Content License

By uploading content to ShearBook (photos, descriptions, portfolio images), you grant ShearBook a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote that content in connection with the Platform. You retain ownership of your content and may remove it at any time. Removing content terminates this license, except where content has already been shared or cached.
