1. Platform Role

ShearBook is a technology platform that connects clients with independent beauty professionals (“Pros”). ShearBook is not a salon, barbershop, spa, or beauty service provider. We do not employ Pros, nor do we control or direct the manner in which they perform services.

2. Independent Contractors

All Pros on ShearBook are independent contractors, not employees or agents of ShearBook. Each Pro is solely responsible for:

• The quality of their services
• Maintaining valid professional licenses and insurance
• Compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Their own taxes, business licenses, and regulatory obligations
• The accuracy of their profile, pricing, and availability

3. No Warranty

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. ShearBook does not warrant that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Any Pro will provide satisfactory services
• Information provided by Pros (credentials, reviews, photos) is accurate or complete
• The Platform will meet your specific requirements

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShearBook, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Personal injury or property damage arising from services provided by Pros
• Any disputes between clients and Pros
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

In no event shall ShearBook’s total liability exceed the amount you paid to ShearBook in the 12 months preceding the claim.

5. License Verification

ShearBook offers a license verification feature as a convenience. While we make reasonable efforts to verify professional licenses, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or current status of any license information. Clients should independently verify a Pro’s credentials when in doubt.

6. Health and Safety

ShearBook does not control the physical environments where services are performed. Clients assume responsibility for:

• Disclosing allergies, sensitivities, or medical conditions to their Pro
• Evaluating the cleanliness and safety of service locations
• Making informed decisions about services received

7. Third-Party Services

ShearBook integrates with third-party services (Stripe for payments, etc.). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShearBook and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

9. Governing Law

This Disclaimer and all related disputes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
